Hornets' Jones wants to explore free agency

With their  season over, the Charlotte Hornets are now puting guard Eddie Jones offseason as he wants to explore free agency and plans for a new arena to be his new home court. But it's clear Charlotte wants to keep Jones, a excellent player they got in a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers last year who is considered one of the top free agents available this summer. Silas the head coach has previously indicated the club is willing to offer Jones a 7-year, $86.5 million contract -- (the maximum allowed under the NBA's collective contract agreement). But Jones said after the playoff loss against the Philadelphia 76ers that he plans to see what he can get through free agency.
